How do payment plans work on off-plan projects in Nakheel?

You pay a first instalment when you reserve, usually 10% to 20%, then instalments while the building rises, and the balance at or after handover. Each project page above shows its own plan in dirhams.

What fees are paid on an off-plan purchase in Dubai?

The Dubai Land Department registers the sale on Oqood for 4% of the price plus AED 20. There is no trustee fee at this stage, and the title deed is issued on handover. The buying costs calculator works it out for any price.

Is the money I pay a developer protected?

Yes. Under Dubai Law No. 8 of 2007, off-plan payments go into an escrow account for the project, which the developer can draw on only to build it.
